Official Investment Strategy

The fund seeks to replicate the performance of the Franklin Low Volatility High Dividend CAD Index NTR (the "FLVU Index"). The FLVU Index is designed to provide stable income through investment in stocks of profitable U.S. companies with relatively high dividend yields and lower price and earnings volatility in CAD currency. The FLVU Index is composed of stocks of U.S. companies across a wide range of market capitalizations and is reconstituted once a year and rebalanced quarterly. Stocks whose yields are not supported by earnings are excluded from consideration.
